Friday, Saturday and Sunday were "off days" for me. I didn't set goals and my eating wasn't the best (it was better then usual but could have been even better). A side effect of the Metformin (medicine prescribed for insulin resitance) is stomach cramps and I have had some major stomach cramping the past few days. I am hoping this eases up in time.
One thing that I have been doing every morning is "weighing in". I have seen the numbers drop every morning and that has made me want to work even harder.
I got on the scale this morning and there it was....242....I have lost 5 pounds! I am so excited and ready to work even harder this week. If I can loose 5 pounds just by changing my eating habits (the medicine also helps) what will happen when I start adding in excercising? My goal for the week is to start an excercise routine.
Richard, Mom and Dad, I think I want (and will need) clothes for Christmas. :)

Day 1 - Goals and Scheduled Events
Goals
1.) laundry
I worked on laundry but I still have LOTS more to do. It's a never ending cycle.
2.) create a healthy menu
I worked on a menu and I have 4 days worth of meals so far, my ultimate goal is to create a 6 week rotating menu.
3.) complete notes (work related)
I worked on the notes, but did not complete them.
4.) spend 15 minutes in each room decluttering
I only spent 15 minutes in the kitchen decluttering.
5.) get prescribtion filled
I got my prescribtion filed and gasped at the price and the price included my co-pay.
6.) create a morning routine and a bedtime routine
I have been thinking on this one all day and I have routines in mind, I now need to get them on paper.
7.) create an exercise schedule
I did not do this but I will. I promise.
8.) water flowers
It rained today so I did not have to water the flowers.
9.) talk with Ginger about Daniel's developmental concerns
I discuss my concerns with Ginger and I feel much better now. Daniel seems to be doing GREAT for all he has been thru.
10.) call Dr. Amis about Daniel's test results
I called Dr. Amis, Daniel's thyroid was in normal range and the allergy panel had not been returned.
Scheduled Events
10 a.m. - Dr. Anderson (Hoyt)
12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. - Early Intervention (Daniel)

Why and What
So why am I creating a blog? Hmmm...I think there are a couple of reasons. 1.) I have found that I enjoy blogging since starting Daniel's blog http://www.djlloyd.blogspot.com/, it's kind of theraputic. 2.) I am hoping by opening myself up to the world then I will stick to my goals because I have people to account to.
What is this blog all about? I am tired of being stressed out by all the things that I have going on in my life and all the responsibilites that I have. I dream of having an "organized life", "stress free life". In the last few weeks I have come to realize that the only way my dream will come true is if I start making changes and taking control. I decided that I would use this blog as a "journal" so I can look back and see my accomplishments and so I can show others (yes, brag) and maybe even inspire others.
I will also be using this blog as a weight loss journal. I was recently diagnoised with insulin resistance, low HDL, hypertension, and elevated liver enzymes. All these conditions are caused by my obesisty. My BMI (body mass index) is 40, my BMI should be 24. I currently weigh 250, the target weight for a 5 ft, 6 in. female is 140. I need to loose 100 pounds and decrease my BMI by half. I know most women don't share their weight but I am serious about loosing weight and becoming healthy and if that means I need to let the whole world know how fat I am then that is someting I will do. I hope that my readers will cheer me on and encourage me during this journey. It's not going to be easy but I have goals in life that I want to reach. 1.) I want to see Daniel grow up., 2.) I want to have another baby., 3.) I want to shop in the "skinny section" of clothes stores.
Now that I have answered the why and what question...Welcome to my blog and my life.
